Senior Environmental Lawyer

Are you an experienced Environmental Law specialist seeking the next step in your career? The Opportunity

Our client is a highly respected UK and international law firm, looking to expand its Environmental Law team with a senior‑level hire who will play a key role in developing and leading the firm's environmental offering. This position offers the chance to build and shape a national practice under the guidance of a leading environmental law partner.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an environmental lawyer to work across high‑profile contentious and non‑contentious matters, advising a diverse client base across the public and private sectors, and to help grow a thriving practice with a strong national reputation.

Responsibilities

• Advising on a wide range of environmental legal issues, including regulatory, compliance, and ESG‑related matters.
• Leading and supporting environmental due diligence in corporate and commercial transactions.
• Advising clients on Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) requests.
• Assisting with environmental litigation and dispute resolution, including regulatory investigations.
• Working collaboratively with leading teams across Real Estate, Construction, Planning, Public Sector, and Corporate.
• Driving and supporting business development and client relationship management.
• Acting as a mentor and leader within the team, supporting the training and development of junior lawyers.

Qualifications and Experience

• A qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with a minimum of 6 years' PQE in environmental law.
• Able to demonstrate strong technical expertise across the spectrum of environmental issues.
• A natural relationship builder, with a proven track record in client development.
• Genuinely interested in building a market‑leading environmental practice with the support of a national platform.
