Placements24 is seeking a junior tax accountant in Rustenburg to join the tax department. This role targets recent graduates or early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in tax compliance and planning under experienced guidance.

The position involves assisting with tax returns, research, ledger accuracy, and responding to tax authority queries, with a focus on professional growth and development in tax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
• Zero to two years of experience in tax accounting or a relevant internship.
• Familiarity with South African tax laws and regulations is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and filing of tax returns (income tax, VAT).
• Conduct tax research and stay updated on tax legislation changes.
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accuracy of general ledger entries.
• Support senior tax staff in responding to queries from tax authorities.
• Maintain tax records and documentation.
• Provide general administrative support to the tax department.
