The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring delivery of uncompromising quality care in line with Company strategic objectives and applicable health/nursing legislation for our intermediate care.

A vacancy has arisen for Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary at Life Nkanyisa Baneng Care Centre in Florida, Roodepoort. This position reports to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring delivery of uncompromising quality care in line with Company strategic objectives and applicable health/nursing legislation for our intermediate care.

Critical Outputs
Ensuring Effective Quality Management System by:
  • Attending and participating in quality programmes and ensuring induction training is carried out
  • Ensuring monthly quality evaluator cards are completed and reported to the shift leader or unit manager
  • Ensuring comment cards are completed and reported to the shift leader or unit manager
  • Attending and participating in review and ward meetings in order to ensure conformance to QMS audit standards
  • Performing, understanding and complying with the company infection control standards in order to adhere to PPE standards and procedures
  • Adhering to safety measures
Ensure optimum operational efficiencies by:
  • Ensuring correct and accurate stock administration
  • Determining patients’ special needs during activities
  • Correctly reporting patient movements on discharge or transfer
  • Ensuring correct and proper usage and maintenance of equipment
  • Ensuring personal absenteeism is minimized and justified
Ensuring effective quality patient care by:
  • Performing and completing tasks assigned in order to maximize patient care
  • Ensuring patients’ hygiene, comfort and safety is measured in accordance with the nursing care plan
  • Following the correct techniques and wearing PPE’s in order to promote aseptic technique
  • Ensure patients pre and post weight is recorded and report any abnormality
  • Monitoring and recording patients’ vital signs and report abnormalities to the shift leader
  • Ensure patients’ comfort during the sessions and tidiness of the unit at all times
Effective relationship management with customers by:
  • Building and maintaining healthy relationships with internal and external customers and supporting all new staff with the orientation programme
Requirements
  • Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary
  • Current registration with SANC
  • Understanding of the SLA with DOH, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
  • Work experience in psychiatric facility will be an advantage
