Job description

A teaching vacancy will become available at the South African Jockey Academy situated in Summerveld, Outer West Durban.

The Academy is looking to appoint an experienced English and or Consumer Studies teacher who will work in an environment of developing young elite sportsmen and women. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this part time position from January 2026.

Requirements of the post

• A suitable academic and professional qualification.
• Teaching experience in the FET phase (including Grade 12).
• Must be computer literate (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s license and own transport (a PDP would be an added advantage).
• To be a team player.
• To be involved in extramural activities from time to time.
• A SACE certificate.
• A Criminal Clearance certificate.
• A Sexual Offenses Clearance certificate.
