Responsibilities

• Identify and assess level of issue-based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes.
• Apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements).
• Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the Toolbox.
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
• Ensure an enabling climate/culture and manage labour stability by minimising turnover, with targets.
• Conduct recruitment interviews and coach/counsel people to improve performance.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and liaise with customers to define annual SLAs and ensure services are delivered.
• Maximise Diesel Workshop availability; manage maintenance on dams and surface water reticulation for environmental compliance.
• Support Engineering Manager with ad hoc maintenance investigations and implement the maintenance strategy.
• Investigate failures and conduct Root Cause Analysis.
• Develop and optimise maintenance plan; audit assets and documentation for standardisation.
• Compile capital applications; maximise project efficiency and profitability; determine project specs and materials; manage full project lifecycle.
• Support the Engineering Manager in legally assigned duties.
• Foster continuous improvement and development of electrical systems and installations best practice.
• Manage Section costs and prepare engineering budget; monitor variances and costs.
