Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking an Engineering Stores Manager / Technical Buyer in Johannesburg, South Africa. You will oversee engineering stores, drive technical procurement, manage inventory, and maintain supplier relationships to support uninterrupted maintenance and production operations.

The role requires strong experience in stores management, purchasing, stock control, supplier negotiations, cost management and ERP systems, ideally in pharma, FMCG, manufacturing or engineering

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management or Operations Management.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG, manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Strong engineering stores management and inventory control experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day engineering stores operations and ensure availability of spares, consumables and technical materials.
• Procure technical equipment, spare parts and maintenance services following procurement policies.
• Source and evaluate suppliers; obtain quotations and negotiate pricing and terms.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, perform stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Monitor procurement timelines and coordinate with engineering stakeholders to avoid production disruptions.
• Promote GMP compliance and governance across procurement and stores activities.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance against expectations.
• Prepare inventory and procurement reports and support cost control.
