Assegai Recruitment is seeking a Tailings Engineer for its Centurion or Sandton offices in South Africa. The role involves contributing to new and existing tailings projects and supporting senior engineers and project managers with surveillance and design of tailings storage facilities and return water dams.

Ideal candidates will have 4–7 years of tailings experience, a Civil Engineering degree (BEng/BScEng), and preferably ECSA registration.

Qualifications

• 4 to 7 years of tailings engineering experience.
• B Eng or BSc Eng in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA is advantageous.
• Good fundamental understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics.
• Post graduate experience in geotechnical engineering will be advantageous.
• Experience in CPTu testing and interpretation.
• Experience in geotechnical investigations considered advantageous.
• Experience in related laboratory testing of soils and tailings material considered advantageous.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint.
• Experience with slope stability, seepage analysis and FEM software, such as Geostudio.
• Proficient in AutoCad Civil 3D or ModelMaker.

Responsabilités
