Placements24 is seeking an experienced Energy Trader to join our client in Polokwane. The role combines remote analysis with in-office collaboration, trading power in regional markets and managing risk to maximize profitability.

You will execute day-ahead and real-time trades, monitor market data and weather signals, and develop strategies while working with analysts and risk managers. The ideal candidate has a 4+ years track record in energy trading and a quantitative degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of energy trading experience, preferably in South African power markets.
• Proven track record of successful trading performance and risk management.
• Strong understanding of electricity market structures, trading platforms, and relevant regulations.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
