Placements24 is seeking an expert Energy Economist to contribute to strategic planning and market analysis in Soweto. You will conduct economic research, forecast energy market trends, and advise on financial implications of energy policy and investments.

The role requires a Master’s or PhD in Economics with a focus on energy economics and at least 5 years of experience, plus strong skills in econometric tools and data analysis. This is a research-oriented position in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Economics with a specialization in energy economics, econometrics, or applied microeconomics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in economic analysis, preferably within the energy sector.
• Strong quantitative and modeling skills, including expertise in econometric software (e.g., Stata, EViews, R).
• Excellent understanding of energy markets, policy frameworks, and environmental economics.
• Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to communicate complex economic concepts clearly and concisely.
