The appointee will contribute to one or more research pillars, publish in international journals, and participate in departmental and university activities as part of a developmental fixed-term appointment.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Ecology, Botany or Zoology with a research focus relevant to terrestrial ecology.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in undergraduate ecology courses (general, terrestrial plant and animal ecology).
  • Develop and publish a coherent research programme and contribute to SARChI Chair research pillars.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and engage in mentorship and career development.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at scientific and stakeholder events.
  • Collaborate on external funding applications and contribute to community engagement with conservation bodies.
