Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a leading sports academy in Gauteng to recruit a passionate Youth Soccer Coach for their elite development program in Tembisa. You will identify talent, design age-appropriate training, and guide players through technical, tactical, and physical growth.

The role requires CAF C/B/A coaching qualifications, 3–5 years of youth coaching experience, strong communication and leadership, and readiness for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• A recognized coaching qualification (CAF C, B, or A License, or equivalent).
• Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) coaching youth soccer at a competitive level, with a focus on player development.
• Demonstrated understanding of modern soccer coaching methodologies, tactics, and player development principles.
• Excellent communication, motivational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to connect with young athletes and foster a positive learning environment.
• Experience in talent identification and scouting is an advantage.
• First Aid certification and child protection training are essential.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
• A genuine passion for youth development and the sport of soccer.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct engaging and effective training sessions for youth soccer teams, focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate training programs and game strategies tailored to the elite development squad.
• Scout and identify talented young players within the local community and surrounding areas.
• Provide constructive feedback and individual coaching to players to enhance their skills and game understanding.
• Manage team logistics for training sessions and matches, ensuring all necessary equipment and facilities are prepared.
• Monitor player progress and provide regular performance evaluations to players and their parents/guardians.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes discipline, respect, fair play, and a strong work ethic.
• Collaborate with other coaches, academy staff, and sports scientists to ensure a holistic approach to player development.
• Attend matches, provide tactical guidance, and make in-game adjustments to optimize team performance.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during training and matches, adhering to all relevant safety guidelines.
