A leading electrical services company in Gauteng seeks a qualified electrician. Responsibilities include installations of power supplies, maintenance of electrical equipment, and troubleshooting. Candidates must have a Grade 12 certificate, a Wireman's license, and 3-5 years' experience in a relevant field. This is a full-time position requiring strong problem-solving skills and adherence to safety standards.
Carry out installations of new power supplies and AC 3-phase motors.
To report faulty appliances or damaged equipment and carry out work as per the required job card.
Ensure adherence to quality standards rules and regulations.
Issue of Certificates of Compliance (COC) for electrical installations.
Ability to diagnose problems on instruments.
Carry out breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
Testing and commissioning of projects.
Make use of electrical testing equipment of power and hand tools.
Preventative maintenance of electrical equipment.
Conduct general housekeeping in the workshop.
Maintenance of electrical lighting across the Plant.
Carry out troubleshooting and fault finding of processing equipment as well as electrical instrumentation and HMI.
Perform general administrative functions in respect of monthly inspections job card closures and filing.
Ensure that all the companys Safety Health and Environmental standards are adhered to.
Required to perform standby duties and work overtime as and when required.
Matric / Grade 12.
A valid unrestricted Wiremans license (Electrical COC)
Completed Electrical Apprenticeship.
A valid medium voltage certificate (MV / HV) advantageous.
Instrumentation background advantageous.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a production workshop plant maintenance and electrical as well as chemical environment with a good understanding in operating electrical equipment.
Previous experience in mentoring and leading apprentices.
Must possess very good electrical engineering skills.
Experience in instrumentation maintenance advantageous.
Possess good communication.
Must possess skill in the use of tools associated with the trade area i.e. hand and power tools measuring equipment etc as well as a range of testing devices.
Computer literate in MS Office (Word / Excel) and Outlook.
Must be in possession of a valid drivers license have own reliable transport and must be medically fit to drive.
Ability to solve problems systematically
Knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems standard / requirements advantageous
