Qualifications

Introduction

A Vacancy exists at the Pietermaritzburg sit for an Electrician within the Engineering Department reporting to the Electrical Charge Hand

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsilble for but not limited to the following :

• Installation of equipment and systems
• Maintenance of equipment and systems
• Repair of all factory machines
• Testing and commissioning of electrical and electronic equipment and systems
• Distribution of equipment in the factory
• Ensure that all planned maintenance work and breakdown are carried out efficiently within time limits provided.
• Modify any piece of electrical equipment as may be required from time to time
• Ensure compliance to all aspects of SHER that are relevant to the execution of his duties and as included in the Induction Process
• Active participation in the P2P process
• Diagnose electrical problems and report to the relevant personnel
• Perform general house‑keeping duties in all work areas.
• Ensure time keeping.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric Certificate and or Equivalent.
• Qualification in Electrical Engineering from a recognise tertiary institution.
• Minimum 10 years expirience as a Maintenance Electrician in a Manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault finding, diagnostic and problem solving skills
• Must have experience with AC / DC drives and PLC's fault finding.
• Be able to read and accurately interpret electrical drawings.
