Purpose
PURPOSEThe role is responsible to ensure that electrical & instrumentation planning, installation, maintenance and repairs / replacement of all electrical equipment is done safe and efficient (MV & LV).
Responsibilities

- Report unsafe conditions and –behaviour.
- Attend pre-shift meetings.
- Ensure to wear correct PPE at all times.
- Operations implement maintenance schedules.
- Maintenance of transformers and substations.
- Maintains/repairs all electrical equipment.
- Conduct plant inspection on all key electrical equipment.
- Identify and prioritize equipment in need of maintenance/repairs.
- Plan downtime for repairs/maintenance.
- Do risk assessment/study procedures.
- Do repairs/maintenance.
- Maintenance be part of maintenance planning meeting.
- Create job card (R Card).
- Engineering work execution on relevant Maintenance day's.
- Inspect equipment in the area of responsibility.
- Capture update and maintain information on key system.
- Do general and processing maintenance/repairs e.g. change panels and sieve bends, tighten panels, cutting of skirting, unblocking of panels and flood boxes.
- Execute planned maintenance tasks.
- Managing the team.
- Coach and assist co-workers.
- Specialised maintenance on conveyors and fire detectors.
- Legal inspections and logbooks.
- Fault finding on electrical systems and cable installations.
Qualifications
- Trade test - MQA / MERSETA preferred.
- Dual Trade certificate as Electrician as well as instrument technician / mechanician will be advantageous.
- N2 - Electrical engineering subjects.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- MV training / qualification will be advantageous.
- Siemens PLC and SCADA experience will be advantageous.
