About the Role

Our client, a reputable manufacturing company specializing in electrical components, is seeking a diligent Electrical Test Engineer to join their quality assurance team in Soweto, Gauteng . This role is essential for ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of manufactured products through rigorous testing procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing test protocols, operating testing equipment, analyzing test data, and identifying product defects. You will work closely with the design and production teams to implement corrective actions and improve product performance. Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test plans and procedures for electrical components and finished products. Set up and operate various electrical testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and automated test systems. Perform functional, performance, and environmental testing according to established specifications. Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and document findings clearly and accurately. Collaborate with R&D and production teams to troubleshoot product issues and recommend design or process improvements. Ensure all testing activities comply with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements. Maintain calibration records for all testing equipment. Prepare detailed test reports and provide feedback on product quality and reliability. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies. Ensure a safe working environment within the testing laboratory.

Requirements

National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical testing or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in using a wide range of electrical test equipment and measurement tools. Understanding of electronic components, circuits, and power systems. Experience with test automation is a plus. Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and testing standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be based in or willing to commute to Soweto, Gauteng .
