Job summary

Luxury Hotel is seeking an experienced Electrical Assistant to install, maintain, repair and optimise all electrical infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable and energy-efficient operation of hotel facilities in line with SANS 10142 and OHS legislation.

The role supports the Facilities Manager in planning upgrades, coordinating with operations, housekeeping, and F&B, and ensuring minimal disruption to guests. On-site work requires high professionalism and a focus on guest experience.

Qualifications

• Matric or trade certification recognised in SA (Red Seal/Installation Electrician) is required.
• Minimum 3–5 years post-qualification experience in electrical work, ideally in hospitality.
• Experience with building electrical systems, safety compliance and on-site guest environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure electrical installations and circuits across guest areas operate safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and rapid fault response to minimise downtime.
• Maintain compliance with SANS 10142 and OHS Act, and document maintenance activities.
• Assist planning and documentation of electrical upgrades and energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Provide courteous service to internal stakeholders to avoid guest-impact issues.
• Inspect electrical systems, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
• Support generator, UPS, and emergency power system testing and operation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and asset registers.
