Job summary

MC Design & Contracting in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, seeks an Electrical Supervisor to lead electrical activities across project lifecycles. You will plan workloads, oversee manufacturing, installations, commissioning and handover while ensuring safety, scope, time and quality compliance.

Responsibilities include managing schedules, budgets, and resource allocation; coordinating with clients and contractors; supervising teams; and driving continuous improvement across electrical operations.

Qualifications

• Matric or N3 is required.
• Valid Wireman’s License (Installation or Master Electrician).
• Code 08 driver’s license and own transport are required.
• 3–5 years supervisory experience in electrical manufacturing/installation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage detailed project schedules and resources.
• Ensure targets, milestones and budgets are met.
• Coordinate electrical work across sites and with contractors.
• Oversee multiple projects and prioritise tasks by urgency.
• Liaise with clients and provide progress updates.
• Procure materials and manage consumables for install activities.
• Monitor labour hours and control costs to avoid overruns.
• Maintain delivery schedules for equipment and installations.
• Supervise electrical manufacturing, installation, and commissioning teams.
• Perform site inspections and quality checks against specs.
• Uphold health, safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Support mechanical tasks when required.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and documentation controls.
• Provide progress reports to Electrical Contracts Manager.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Mentor junior staff and develop departmental skills.
