Job summary

A leading engineering firm in South Africa is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation professional to lead and optimize converting operations. This role involves managing complex control systems and process instrumentation, executing repairs and preventive maintenance, and driving a safety-focused culture. The ideal candidate has a diploma in Electrical Engineering, advanced PLC fault finding expertise, and at least 5 years of experience in heavy engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Job description

We need an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation professional to lead and optimize our converting operations Plant.

What You'll Do
  • Lead daily operations meetings and solve critical equipment challenges.
  • Manage complex control systems, PLCs, and process instrumentation.
  • Execute breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance on electrical & C&I systems.
  • Develop training programs and work instructions for advanced control systems.
  • Drive safety excellence across all electrical and instrumentation activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • N6 / S4 Electrical Engineering or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Advanced PLC fault finding and advanced pneumatics course and basic pneumatics programming.
  • Experience with process instrumentation and automation technologies.
  • Trade test certificate will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience solid heavy engineering plant experience, preferably in a FMCG manufacturing converting environment.
  • Driver's license.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a 24 / 7 operation with strong team leadership and technical training capabilities.
