Minimum Requirements
- Matric certificate/ equivalent
 
- Section 13 Trade Test or section 26D as a qualified Electrician
 
- Preferably 5 to 10 years’ experience working as a qualified artisan.
 
- 5 years’ experience as appointed Foreman in Mining underground or opencast operation and contracting industry (Mechanical & Electrical) / MV Certification would be an added advantage).
 
- Must have competent B.
 
- Computer literate.
 
- Valid Driver’s license – Code 8.
 
- Medically fit for underground
 
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- At least 5 years’ experience in a trackless / mechanized underground mining environment.
 
- Instrumentation experience
 
- Knowledge of Sandvik rigs and leaky feeder system.
 
- Programing and maintenance of PLC systems.
 
- Knowledge of MV switch gear and CBS Systems.
 
- Sound knowledge and experience of underground Engineering related operations & maintenance, equipment operation.
 
- Underground planned maintenance principles regarding work planning / schedules.
 
- Understand the fundamentals regarding forecasting relevant resources via SAP systems to minimize downtimes.
 
- Ability to manage at front line, conducting inspection, repairs, and service maintenance work leadership experience with subordinates.
 
- Exceptional knowledge of the Mine, Health & Safety Act and Regulations.

- Plan and execute routine, preventative and conduct corrective maintenance.
 
- Delicate, monitor all electrical activities, inspections, repairs, and service maintenance work leadership with subordinates.
 
- Provide a safe, secure, and sustainable environment for your team.
 
- Monitor compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and statutory requirements, and implement immediate measures to correct or eliminate any instances of non-conformance.
 
- Optimize cost effectiveness of equipment consumables and parts by providing specifications on equipment and parts required.
 
- Ensure company skills development initiative are in place as per Employment Equity and site-specific requirements.
