Job summary

Pro Select Consulting seeks a technically minded Electrical Engineering Technician to join a growing renewable energy and electrical engineering team. This hands-on role supports engineering teams, clients and project activities by handling electrical system data and technical documentation.

You will monitor and interpret performance information, assist with site activities, and help with commissioning, testing and close-out, while ensuring compliance with technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification or related field.
• Diploma or similar recognized qualification preferred.
• Experience in renewable energy, solar PV or electrical infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a technically minded Electrical Engineering Technicianto join a growing business operating within the renewable energy and electrical engineering sector. This is a diverse, hands‑on support role suited to someone who understands electrical systems and renewable energy environments and is equally comfortable working with technical data, engineering teams, clients and project activities. The successful candidate will provide technical and engineering support across renewable energy projects, assist with the monitoring and handling of electrical system data, facilitate project activities and provide ongoing support to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical and engineering support to clients and internal teams.
• Monitor, extract, compile and manage electrical and renewable energy system data.
• Assist with the interpretation and reporting of technical performance information.
• Support the monitoring of grid‑connected renewable energy systems and electrical infrastructure.
• Assist with technical troubleshooting and the investigation of system or performance issues.
• Prepare technical reports, data summaries and supporting documentation for clients.
• Assist engineers with project planning, coordination and implementation.
• Facilitate communication between clients, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Conduct or assist with site inspections and Clerk of Works activities where required.
• Monitor project progress, workmanship and compliance with technical requirements.
• Assist with commissioning, testing, snagging and project close‑out activities.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications and other technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate project, technical and client records.
• Provide ongoing technical support following project implementation.

Personal Attributes

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technologyor a related technical field.
• A National Diploma, Advanced Diploma, BTech or similar technical qualification will be considered.
• Previous experience within renewable energy, solar PV, power systems, electrical infrastructure or a related engineering environment would be highly advantageous.
• Understanding of electrical systems and the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Exposure to grid‑connected renewable energy systems, metering, monitoring systems, SCADA, power quality or electrical data would be advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy with confidence working with technical data, spreadsheets and reporting systems.
• Previous technical support, project coordination, site supervision or Clerk of Works exposure would be beneficial.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical, problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple technical and project‑related responsibilities simultaneously.
