Job summary

Haskoning seeks an Electrical Engineer (MCF/Data Centres) to design and analyse electrical systems for mission-critical facilities. You will develop 5 VDC to 150 kV power networks, model with ETAP, coordinate BIM with Revit, and support commissioning across global projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• ECSA registration or progress toward registration is required or advantageous.
• Experience designing data centres / mission critical facilities is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Revit, ETAP, Dialux and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical work packages for data centre projects.
• Build and maintain ETAP models.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, protection, arc-flash, motor-starting and harmonic studies.
• Design MV/LV distribution, UPS, generation, switchgear and critical power systems.
• Coordinate Revit/BIM and ETAP models, diagrams and design documents.
• Produce specifications, calculations, reports and tender documents.
• Support cost, risk reviews and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Review tenders and vendor proposals; participate in design reviews.
• Support FAT, SAT, IST, commissioning and testing.
• Communicate progress and risks; ensure standards compliance.

What you do as an Electrical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)

As an Electrical Engineer (MCF/Data Centres), you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the globe to design, analyse and model electrical systems for some of the world's most complex mission‑critical facilities. You will be responsible for developing power systems ranging from 5 VDC to 150 kV, including power distribution networks, energy storage solutions, redundancy concepts, generators and UPS systems. By maintaining and optimising electrical network models, you will help ensure safe, reliable and resilient operations. In addition, you will develop protection schemes, access control and resilience solutions, while supporting activities such as risk assessments, testing, commissioning and operational readiness to ensure facilities perform as intended from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical work packages for data centre projects;
• Build and maintain ETAP models;
• Perform load flow, short‑circuit, protection, arc‑flash, motor‑starting, harmonic, reliability, and contingency studies;
• Design MV/LV distribution, UPS, generation, switchgear, protection, and critical power systems;
• Coordinate Revit/BIM and ETAP models, diagrams, layouts, and design documents;
• Produce specifications, calculations, reports, tender documents, and other deliverables;
• Support planning, cost and risk reviews, technical decisions, and multidisciplinary coordination;
• Review tenders and vendor proposals and participate in design reviews, workshops, and hazard assessments;
• Support FAT, SAT, IST, commissioning, readiness, testing, and troubleshooting;
• Communicate progress and risks and ensure compliance with standards, client requirements, and mission‑critical principles.

You will work in a cross‑border hybrid team, delivering projects and improving processes.

You will share knowledge across our MEP and MCF communities.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, with 4 – 7+ years post graduate relevant, multi‑disciplinary experience, within a consulting engineering environment;
• ECSA Professional registration or progress toward ECSA professional registration;
• Experience in design of data centres/ mission critical facilities is an advantage;
• Revit, ACC, ETAP, Dialux and Excel software proficiency;
• Revizto, automation and AI tools experience are advantageous;
• Strong understanding of industry standards and design/ construction practices;
• Good awareness of clients’ operational and business needs;
• Proactive, flexible, and results‑oriented professional with strong problem‑solving skills;
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
