Placements24 is assisting an established engineering consulting firm in Kimberley to hire an Electrical Draughtsperson on a contract basis. You will create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts from engineers' designs, focusing on industrial plants, commercial buildings, and infrastructure.

You will collaborate with engineers to ensure accuracy, maintain drawing registers, and update drawings for site modifications.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Draughtsperson.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Revit MEP is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of electrical symbols, standards, and drafting practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with South African electrical codes and regulations is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Produce precise electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring details using CAD software.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and calculations to create accurate technical drawings.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant industry standards (e.g., SANS) and company drafting conventions.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to review and refine designs and drawings for projects in Kimberley.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and ensure proper document control.
• Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on drawings.
• Update existing drawings to reflect site modifications or design changes.
• Perform basic drafting checks for clarity, completeness, and accuracy.
• Support the engineering team with any drafting-related queries.
