Job summary

A recruitment agency in South Africa is looking for an experienced engineer to design electrical circuits and develop PLC automation programs. Candidates should have 3-5 years of automation and control systems experience along with a degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering. Only South African residents or those with a relevant work permit will be considered. This role offers a chance to work both nationally and internationally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automation design and control systems.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in electrical circuit design.
• Solid understanding of electrical design principles and compliance requirements.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Design detailed electrical circuits and control systems in line with company and industry standards
• Develop PLC automation programs based on machine specifications and operational needs
• Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning at the company premises and client sites
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation
• Provide technical support to internal teams, assist with imported equipment integration, and offer on-site client support
• Collaborate with mechanical and project engineers to ensure complete system functionality

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automation design and control systems
• At least 1-2 years of experience in electrical circuit design
• Solid understanding of electrical design principles, standards, and compliance requirements
• Programming experience is required. (Siemens)
• Knowledge in programming software such as CODESYS, Allen Bradley Compact Logix, Delta ISP Soft etc. will be advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Able and willing to travel nationally and internationally

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Diploma will also be considered.
