Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical design, manufacturing and installation of MCCs.
• Conduct functional tests and troubleshoot electrical control systems.
• Oversee commissioning of electrical systems and automation.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams for seamless project execution.
• Assist in project cost estimates for bidding projects.
• Ensure compliance with international standards and codes.
• Maintain focus on health, safety and environmental issues.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12)


• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering


• B‑Tech / BEng / BSc in Electrical Engineering (Advantage)


• ECSA Candidate Membership (Advantage)

Required Skills

• 5 years' experience in Electrical Engineering.


• 3–5 years' experience working with Siemens systems such as PLC, HMI & SCADA (Compulsory).

Preferred Skills

• Design AutoCAD/SCADA/PLC/HMI.

Responsibilities

• Write program code for PLCs, design and configure SCADA and HMIs according to customer requirements.


• Prepare schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation for electrical systems, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and regulatory standards.


• Calculate, design, specify material for manufacturing and installation, and supervise the electrical design, manufacturing and installation of MCCs, PLC panels, SCADA and HMI.


• Conduct functional tests, debugging and troubleshooting of electrical control systems to ensure correct functionality and integration.


• Oversee the commissioning of electrical systems, automation of PLC, SCADA, HMI and instruments.


• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including process, mechanical and civil engineers, to ensure seamless project execution and integration of E & I systems.


• Assist in project cost estimates for tender projects or engineering services to aid management in bidding or pricing projects.


• Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation designs comply with relevant international standards and codes of practice.


• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and environmental issues throughout the project lifecycle.


• Develop project schedules and budgets, monitor and review the performance of electrical engineering management systems, and implement improvements to optimise the efficiency of engineering activities.


• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and undertaking specific client training as required.
