Job Description

Work closely to the site line management and entire organization to ensure compliance with local EHS regulations, and to achieve leading EHS performance through full implementation of SEE EHS standards.

Responsibilities
  • Grow our people's Zero Harm & Compliance culture by partnering with them and discovering new solutions.
  • Design, implement, and improve site programs, activities and initiatives aimed at preventing EHS incidents, complying with applicable regulations, and drive EHS performance towards World Class levels.
  • Ensure adherence of site operations to Corporate EHS Standards by continuous cooperation with all the site functions (primarily department supervisors, maintenance and engineering) and liaising with professional consultant(s) locally.
  • Conduct Safety Gemba Walks with the site team looking for Hazards, Unsafe Behaviours, Unsafe Conditions, Near Misses.
  • Conduct daily review of data to ensure it is being collected / actioned: Near Misses / Open Actions; Machine Guarding gaps; Behaviour Based Safety Observations.
  • Attend Production Daily Meetings.
  • Update the safety notice boards with results, safety alerts, etc.
  • Lead the EHS section of site Management of Change process (equipment installation / modifications, chemical substitution, plant start‑ups, capital projects, etc.).
  • Coordinate and review the local annual EHS improvement plans, against site EHS targets.
  • Deploy the requirements and guidelines of the Regional EHS Management.
  • Conduct Internal EHS Audit Program; help and follow up the implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Support Corporate EHS Audit Program; set up corrective actions against gaps and findings as identified; help and follow up the implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Ensure senior and line management involvement into the site EHS programs.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported from all areas of business; incident investigations are led by line management to identify root causes and corrective actions; outcomes of incident investigations are reported according to the requirements set out in the Incident Investigation Standard and in a timely fashion.
  • Manage EHS contractors.
  • Coordinate PPE purchasing, maintenance and issuing.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct EHS training.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of national diploma / degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Natural Science or equivalent) is required.
  • A SAMTRAC certificate is an added advantage.
  • 1 to 3 years EHS experience in a manufacturing site.
  • Professional proficiency in both written and spoken English.
