Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure Company prescribed HSE KPI's are met.
  2. Adhere to and regularly review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, ensuring compliance with client policies.
  3. Initiate, coordinate, and manage safety, health, & environmental assurance tasks.
  4. Maintain records of all Health & Safety equipment, certifications, and inspections, ensuring certificates including calibration records are up to date.
  5. Coordinate with field services for HSE training and inductions for team members.
  6. Monitor hazardous and unsafe situations, developing measures to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance on client sites.
  7. Review risk assessments for all work equipment and operations regularly.
  8. Investigate, document, and communicate incidents/accidents and report on Intelex; conduct safety observations and walks.
  9. Manage workplace injury compensation matters with relevant authorities.
  10. Advise on statutory, legal compliance, and best practices.
  11. Promote HSE awareness among employees.
  12. Collaborate with clients on fire and emergency drills.
  13. Arrange medical surveillance as per client requirements.
  14. Maintain project-specific SHE files according to client standards.
  15. Conduct site inspections, ensuring control measures are implemented to mitigate risks.
  16. Manage contractors to ensure compliance across field service sites, including updating contractor packs and preparing safety files for projects.
  17. Ensure compliance with all client safety portals and requirements (minimum 90%).
  18. Keep training and inductions current and support onboarding of technicians and engineers.
  19. Assist the execution team during breakdowns and support site operations.
  20. Travel between sites and head office as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Matric / Grade 12, with a National Diploma / BTECH in Safety Management or equivalent experience.
  • SAMTRAC / COMSOC Course or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Registered with SACPCMP.
  • Experience with KBC Passport web-based HSE applications and other online portals.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an HSE environment, with knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Ability to work overtime and travel to support sites.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience in construction and mining environments is beneficial.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
