  • Trade Test Certificate (Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic).
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-trade experience working with earthmoving or heavy-duty construction equipment (e.g., CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, Bell, Hitachi, etc.).
  • Proven ability to perform diagnostics and fault finding on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code 08).
  • Must be a South African citizen and EE candidate.
Key Duties
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on earthmoving machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Inspect, test, and replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Carry out field service repairs and respond promptly to breakdowns on-site or at client locations.
  • Maintain detailed service records and complete job cards accurately.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with OEM specifications and safety standards.
  • Assist with component rebuilds, such as engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Collaborate with workshop supervisors and other technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and the workshop area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
