Job description

Educational Psychologist– School-based private practice opportunity at Future Nation Schools

(Fleurhof & Lyndhurst Campuses)

Future Nation Schools (FNS) invites applications for 2 qualified Educational Psychologists who wish to operate their private practice within our school campuses in Fleurhof and in Lyndhurst, from January

FNS consists of six Afrocentric, tech-focused private schools (preschool, primary and high school) at two campuses that provides a holistic education from 12 months to matric through our unique Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach.

We pride ourselves on nurturing the intellectual, emotional and social well-being of every learner.

About the Opportunity

Future Nation Schools seeks to collaborate with an Educational Psychologist who will be offered an office space on campus at no cost.

In exchange, the psychologist will dedicate a set number of service hours each week to support the well‑being and development of FNS students.

These services may include individual or group sessions as the school identifies a particular need.

In addition to school‑initiated interventions, FNS parents may choose to arrange private sessions for their child directly with the Educational Psychologist.

All private sessions will be billed directly by the psychologist to parents or their medical aid provider, with no financial involvement from the school.

As part of this arrangement, the psychologist may also see private clients (i.e. learner who are not enrolled at FNS) on the premises, creating an accessible and convenient support option for families who wish to make use of these services.

Scope of Work
  • Conduct individual and group sessions for students referred through the school's support system.
  • Provide formal assessment reports and interventions related to learning difficulties, behavioural challenges or emotional well‑being.
  • Offer consultations and feedback to parents and teachers as needed.
  • Support the school's pastoral care, Insika, programme, which promotes student wellness and resilience.
  • Participate in periodic multidisciplinary workshops or awareness sessions for learners, staff and parents on mental health and learning support.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Professional indemnity insurance.
  • Proven experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in an educational environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Why Partner with Future Nation Schools
