Placements24 is partnering with a well-established educational institution in Upington, Northern Cape to recruit a Communications Officer. You will support internal and external messaging, manage content for the website, newsletters, and social channels, and assist with media relations and events.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field, 1–3 years of experience, strong writing/editing skills, and proficiency with CMS and MS Office.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in communications, PR, or related role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with editing/proofreading abilities.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work well in a team and independently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Interest in the education sector advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in developing and implementing communication plans.
• Write and edit content for the institution's website, newsletters, social media, and other publications.
• Support media relations activities, including inquiries and interview coordination.
• Manage the institution's social media accounts and engage with followers.
• Help organize and promote institutional events.
• Maintain communication databases and contact lists.
• Ensure consistency in brand messaging and institutional identity.
• Provide administrative support to the communications department.
• Monitor and report on media coverage and communication effectiveness.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students on communication projects.
