A leading South African university is seeking part-time lecturers for the 2026 academic year. The role involves developing academic material, teaching in allocated subjects, and executing community projects. Candidates must have a relevant postgraduate degree and at least five years of lecturing or industry experience. This position offers an hourly remuneration based on qualifications and experience, with various formats of lectures including face-to-face and remote teaching.
EDU2026B2 Part-time lecturers for 2026 - FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES Entrepreneurship Development Unit, Bloemfontein Campus. Main purpose of the job: To develop academic material and lecture in allocated subjects for own and other programmes and to execute appropriate community projects.
Appointed on an hourly basis for specific semester and/or year subjects (teaching, learning and assessment and related administration).
The hourly rate of payment depends on the part-time lecturers qualifications and experience. 2025 rates: Junior Lecturer R278 per hour; Lecturer R341 per hour; Senior Lecturer R417 per hour; Assoc Prof/Prof R571 per hour.
The format of lectures can be expected to be face-to-face, via remote teaching, or a combination/hybrid format. Facilitation and assessment formats will be subject to change on short notice. Lecturers will be expected to have their own laptop computer. Successful applicants will be required to lecture on the relevant CUT campus and will be available at the assigned subjects scheduled class hours, which may include day and/or evening.
