Job summary

An innovative, AI-powered Educational Platform in Durban is seeking a Software Engineer passionate about improving education in South Africa. You will write clean, maintainable code for both frontend and backend systems, collaborating closely with the Founder and Design team. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in web applications and a strong tech stack including Python (FastAPI), JavaScript/TypeScript (React), and PostgreSQL. Experience with Docker and Event-driven Architectures is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of professional experience building and shipping web applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI), JavaScript/TypeScript (React), and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Docker and Event-driven Architectures is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for both Frontend and Backend.
• Translate user needs and pedagogical concepts into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, write documentation, and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Debug and resolve technical issues across the stack.
