Job description

SAHARA is looking for a procurement and operations officer to join our team in George. We are a non-profit organisation focused on HIV prevention, testing and care, and out-patient substance use prevention and rehabilitation.

This will be a fixed-term contract from 1 June 2025-30 September 2025.

The procurement and operations officer will be responsible for:

  • Clinical procurement: Placing and receiving orders from pharmaceutical suppliers, issuing purchase orders and delivery notes, logging and monitoring stock, ensuring compliance of clinical stock room in collaboration with Clinical Manager and Nurse.
  • Other procurement: Sourcing quotations, issuing purchase orders, receiving stock, and maintaining the stock room.
  • Asset management: Maintenance of asset register, managing insurance plan, organising maintenance of assets and hardware when necessary.
  • Fleet management: Working with the fleet manager to ensure vehicles are maintained and managed according to donor specifications and company policies.
  • Day-to-day operations: Taking care of logistical management of team outreaches, allocating resources,
  • Office and facilities: Delegating to other staff and working with service providers to ensure office is well-maintained, secure and operational.

Requirements:

  • At least two years experience in procurement administration of management, preferably in a clinical or NGO environment.
  • Degree or diploma in administration, procurement, logistics, business or similar.
  • Own transport to the office.
