JUNIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR – Midrand, JHB
12 Month Contract, Start Immediately! R20 – R25 Per Month Negotiable on Qualification and Years of relevant experience
Our client, an established Waste Management concern, is seeking a Junior Internal Auditor to join their dynamic and growing Internal Audit team.

We are looking for an analytical thinker with strong problem-solving, customer liaison, and relationship-building abilities.

Purpose of the role:

The Junior Internal Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the planning, execution, and reporting of internal audits. This includes conducting verification audits on stakeholders of the business and providing assurance on internal controls, risk management, and governance processes within the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Audit Planning & Execution of Fieldwork:

• Document business functions to understand the scope of the audit.
• Identify, assess, and document significant business risks.
• Arrange meetings with business owners for audit preparation and record minutes.
• Prepare electronic working documents to maintain audit standards.
• Assess the scope and objectives of each audit to ensure coverage of key areas.
• Conduct audits following established methodologies.
• Identify and update risks and controls specific to processes.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of controls and compliance with laws and regulations.

Findings and Reporting:

• Document issues identified during audits.
• Perform root cause analysis on issues.
• Recommend risk mitigation solutions.
• Compile and review audit reports, incorporating management feedback.

Stakeholder Management and Communication:

• Conduct feedback meetings during audits.
• Share best practices and interdependencies with stakeholders to mitigate risks.

Performance Objectives:

• Knowledge management & transfer.
• Achieve KPIs/deliverables within set timeframes and quality standards.
• Promote teamwork to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

• Relevant National Diploma or Degree in Internal Auditing.
• 3-5 years internal audit experience, preferably within consulting or the waste/recycling sector.
• Membership with the Institute of Internal Auditors.
• Knowledge of Xero and/or Sage is advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Willingness to travel locally for short periods.
