The Recruitment Process:

  1. TA Interview: This will be a discussion with a member of the Talent Acquisition Team to give you an understanding of our business, our culture & values, and more context on the role. It will also allow you the opportunity to get to know us better and ensure OMI can meet your career aspirations.

  2. Panel Interview: This will be with 2 members of the Senior Leadership of the Hiring Team and 1 member of the HC Leadership Team.

  3. Technical & Psychometric Assessments: These will depend on the role and may occur concurrently with vetting through an external service provider and internal verification.

  4. Final Feedback: After all assessments and interviews, you will receive final feedback regarding your application.

Operate in a Line 2 role assisting management to identify, assess, monitor, and report on risk, providing ongoing oversight and challenge to management. Deploy risk and governance methodologies in the business segments and ensure management receives ongoing training and awareness to properly apply these risk methodologies in practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting management with risk analytics, workshops, and training.
  • Embedding risk management processes at the segment level and ensuring their effectiveness.
  • Assessing and challenging the completeness and accuracy of risk management processes.
  • Producing risk reports and self-assessment results for management and CRO.
  • Monitoring Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and ensuring risks are within appetite limits.
  • Scanning external environment for emerging risks and assessing potential impacts.
  • Driving operational risk quantification and embedding risk policies.
  • Conducting risk and governance training sessions.
  • Supporting the implementation of GRC (CURA) tool and maintaining its operations.
  • Building relationships to promote a risk-aware culture and risk ownership.

  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintaining service quality and stakeholder relationships.
  • Managing budgets and promoting cost efficiency.

Skills required: Business risk management, compliance software, data compilation, legal practices, management reporting, operational risks, stakeholder management, risk governance, etc.

Competencies include: Action-oriented, stakeholder management, financial acumen, trustworthiness, interpersonal skills, complexity management, process optimization, persuasion.

Education: Bachelor of Commerce in Risk Management (NQF Level 7 or equivalent), or related postgraduate qualifications.
