KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Financial Planning and Budgeting
- Assist the OU manager with the preparation and input of the annual budget at the OU level.
- Assist the project manager in the OU with the preparation of project budgets, ensuring adherence to NWU financial policies and guidelines.
- Conduct financial analysis, evaluation, reporting, and control.
- Compile the monthly variance report and discuss the OU’s financial results with OU managers.
- Compile the OU debtors report and assist with follow-up on sundry debtors.
- Prepare and submit financial reports requested from external parties.
- Stay updated on changes in NWU financial policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Fulfill the KFS Fiscal Officer role.
- Prepare credit note memos for sundry debtors.
- Verify the availability of budget and costing when the OU manager wants to advertise a vacant position, appoint temporary staff, or pay ad hoc salaries.
- Assist in monitoring the physical assets of the OU.
- Support the Accountant with follow-up on financial and audit queries.
Financial administration and support
- Assist with initiating e-docs on KFS such as GEC, TF, DI, and RJV.
- Assist with initiating sundry debtors invoices.
Adhoc assignments
- Financial Planning office administration.
- Assist with or prepare training materials and deliver training workshops.
- Perform other financial planning and management tasks as needed in coordination with the Senior Accountant or Faculty Manager of Financial Planning.
- Qualifications: A B.Com degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting and/or Management Accounting.
- Experience: At least three (3) years in a financial environment.
- Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
ADDED ADVANTAGES :
- Experience working on an ERP system (e.g., Oracle, KFS).
- Exposure to budgeting, reporting, and analytical reviewing.
