Job Requirements and Description

We welcome new graduates! The Mental Health LVN / LPN works within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing treatment services according to the Discovery Behavioral Health Clinical Model.

Supervision: LVN / LPN is supervised by an RN / RN Administrator / DON.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all orders from physicians/psychiatrists are executed and communicate clients' well-being promptly to the treatment team.
  • Follow and implement the Nursing Care Plan.
  • Dispense medication as prescribed, count narcotics daily, and complete logs.
  • Perform primary first aid and determine the need for physician notification.
  • Perform weekly vital signs.
  • Manage and order supplies, keeping the nursing station stocked.
  • Manage clients' medical needs, including scheduling appointments and completing referrals or prior authorizations.
  • Support clients during admission, including checking belongings and acclimating them to the program.
  • Supervise and support clients on community outings when necessary.
  • Document client progress objectively and accurately daily.
  • Assess clients' suicidality and potential danger to self or others.
  • Communicate with referral sources and outpatient providers for continuity of care, including using Discovery Connect.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.

This is a full-time position working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am to 9pm. For a virtual tour of the facility, please visit our website.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an LVN / LPN program or equivalent.
  • Current LVN / LPN license in good standing or equivalent.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in mental health or eating disorders.
  • Blood draw certification preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License in good standing.
