Our Client
Our client, a listed and leading plastics manufacturer based in Durban, serving customers and markets in South Africa, Africa and beyond, is looking for an E&I Maintenance Technician to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate manpower in the workshop.
  • Liaise with plant engineering team on manpower requirements (planning / administration).
  • Participation in meetings (Engineering, Production, Safety).
  • Provide technical support to engineering and production staff.
  • Direct and lead technicians and artisans where necessary.
  • Ensure workshop personnel are adequately trained and equipped for plant requirements.
  • Evaluate staff and maintain discipline in accordance with company rules.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards as per SHE requirements.
  • Ensure that standards are maintained (Engineering, Safety) and are in compliance with OSHACT and ISO requirements.
  • Carry out standby duties.
  • Plant modifications, upgrading, and problem-solving (Projects to Certification).
  • Ensure all requested upgrades / modifications on DCS are implemented.
  • Maintain spare part availability in the workshop & production areas.
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure timely availability of spares & equipment.
Requirements

Desired Experience & QualificationRequirements: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Process Instrumentation) (T3 / S4) / Bachelor of Technology advantageous. 5 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical field in a production environment is required.
