About You

The import planner monitors current stock levels of all imported goods, analyzes sales data to make informed buy‑in decisions, and collaborates with the sourcing team to ensure the business has sufficient stock, ensuring maximum profit and minimal risk.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain import buy‑in schedules aligned with demand forecasts and inventory requirements.

Using relevant insights from stock management and forecasting, submit buy‑in proposals to stakeholders.

Assist with deal loading to implement a buy‑in when goods arrive.

Communicate all relevant information of a buy‑in to stakeholders for informed approval.

Communicate approved buy‑ins to the warehouse & procurement teams.

Analyze warehouse stock to purchase right stock at the right time.

Monitor aged stock to ensure we sell out before creating risk.

Adjust import plans based on demand changes, shipping disruptions, or supplier performance.

Analyse data to identify trends and improve forecasting accuracy.

Liaise with sourcing to pinpoint improvement areas for optimal stock management.

Maintain accurate records of import activities and report KPIs.

Support process improvement initiatives to streamline import buy‑ins.

Contribute to risk assessments and contingency planning for international supply disruptions.

Experience & Qualifications

Tertiary qualification (preferably a BCom degree)

At least 3 years of experience in a planning environment

Sound analytical, organizing, multitasking, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure

Resilience strongly aligned with the role

Competency in all computer packages, i.e., Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and Internet

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Excellent numerical and analytical skills
