Job summary

Placements24 seeks a passionate Physics Educator for a well-established secondary school in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will deliver engaging physics lessons to Grades 10–12, aligned with CAPS, perform practical experiments, and assess student progress to support learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics or related science with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
• Proven experience teaching Physics to Grades 10-12.
• Strong knowledge of CAPS Physical Sciences curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in utilizing educational technology in the classroom.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging physics lesson plans for Grades 10-12 per CAPS.
• Conduct practical experiments and demonstrations to illustrate physics concepts.
• Assess student understanding through tests, assignments and practical assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback to support academic growth.
• Manage classroom behaviour to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Collaborate with science department on curriculum development and school initiatives.
• Communicate progress with parents regarding student engagement.
• Stay updated on advancements in physics and modern teaching methodologies.
• Promote student interest in STEM fields.
