Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an energetic Early Childhood Education Facilitator in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal to design and deliver play-based learning experiences. You will observe, guide growth, and communicate with parents to support each child’s development in a collaborative team.

The role blends on-site interaction with planning tasks that may be done remotely, fostering a positive learning environment in a reputable early learning centre.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Early Childhood Education (NQF 4 or higher).
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with young children.
• Solid understanding of child development and pedagogy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creativity in lesson planning and activity development.
• Strong observational and assessment skills.
• Ability to manage a classroom and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Willingness to hybrid work for planning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for young children.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom that promotes exploration.
• Observe and document children's learning, personalizing instruction.
• Facilitate positive social interactions and emotional development.
• Communicate with parents about progress and needs.
• Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards in the centre.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and teaching strategies.
• Assist with administrative tasks and planning, with possible remote work.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings.
