Overview

DTP Print Operator The Printing Press – Mowbray, Cape Town Full‑time, Mid‑Senior Level, Market‐Related Salary. The Printing Press is looking for a skilled DTP Print Operator with solid hands‑on experience in wide‑format and digital print production. This is a full‑time, on‑site role for someone who knows their way around the machines and software, can think on their feet, and deliver quality under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and manage RIP software including CorelDRAW, Caldera RIP, Onyx RIP, and VersaWorks.
• Preflight files using Enfocus PitStop to ensure accuracy and print readiness.
• Run and maintain UV and Solvent printers with a strong understanding of colour management and print quality.
• Handle finishing tasks (cutting, laminating, etc.) as needed.
• Ensure jobs are completed on time, to spec, and with high‑quality standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar DTP / Print Operator role.
• Strong knowledge of CorelDRAW and RIP workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with UV and Solvent printing.
• Good eye for detail, accuracy, and problem‑solving.
• Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet deadlines.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work occasional overtime when required.

Working Hours

Monday – Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, with overtime when deadlines demand.
