Placements24 is seeking an experienced Drug Safety Physician to join its medical affairs team in Polokwane. This senior role focuses on medical assessment of adverse event data, signal detection, and risk management for lifecycle safety of pharmaceutical products.

You will collaborate with global safety teams, regulatory affairs, and clinical development to make critical medical decisions that protect patient well-being and product integrity.

Competenze

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Drug Safety Physician to join their medical affairs team in Polokwane. This senior medical role is pivotal in safeguarding public health by ensuring the safety of pharmaceutical products throughout their lifecycle. You will be responsible for the medical assessment of adverse event data, signal detection, and contributing to risk management strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical expertise for the evaluation of adverse event reports and safety data.
• Lead signal detection and risk assessment activities for assigned products.

• Serve as a medical resource for internal teams and external healthcare professionals regarding product safety.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree with relevant specialization (e.g., internal medicine, pharmacology, toxicology).
• Board certification or equivalent in a relevant medical specialty.
• Significant experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements for drug safety and pharmacovigilance.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex medical and scientific data.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, medical writing, and communication.
