About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Drug Safety Associate to join their pharmacovigilance team, working remotely to support operations across Sandton and beyond. This role is essential for monitoring the safety of pharmaceutical products once they are on the market, collecting, assessing, and reporting adverse event data. You will play a critical part in ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance by maintaining the highest standards in adverse event case processing and reporting. This remote position offers the flexibility to contribute significantly to public health from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and document adverse event (AE) reports from various sources according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Perform initial assessment of AEs for completeness, accuracy, and seriousness.
• Ensure timely submission of safety reports to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Liaise with internal departments and external partners to gather additional information on reported adverse events.
• Maintain the pharmacovigilance database, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Assist in the preparation of periodic safety update reports and other regulatory safety documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
• 1-3 years of experience in pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or a related role within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with global pharmacovigilance regulations (e.g., ICH E2A, E2B) and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in using adverse event reporting databases and systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working in a remote environment based out of Sandton .
