Job summary

Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment invites applications for a Dock Master for the proclaimed fishing harbour at Kalk Bay, Western Cape. The role requires a Grade 12 (NQF 4) or equivalent, with at least 3 years’ Docker experience and a valid driver’s license.

The successful candidate will plan and lead the slipping of vessels, assign teams to build bilge blocks and wedges, and ensure slipway safety both on land and in water, while managing side slipping and equipment storage.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (NQF 4) or equivalent.
• At least 3 years experience as a docker or similar.
• Valid driver’s license.
