• Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.

About the Role

Our client, a pioneering global tech firm, is seeking an innovative and experienced Director of Remote Operations and Strategy to establish and lead their remote-first operational framework. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere, but requires strategic oversight of operations primarily impacting or originating from our key hub in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . The Director will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining operational processes, policies, and systems that empower a distributed workforce to achieve peak performance and seamless collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of distributed team management, a passion for operational efficiency in a virtual environment, and a proven ability to drive strategic initiatives. This role is central to ensuring our client's continued success in a rapidly evolving digital landscape, championing best practices in remote work and operational excellence globally, while maintaining a strong strategic connection to the Stellenbosch, Western Cape operational base.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive remote operations strategy to support a globally distributed workforce.
• Design, optimize, and enforce operational processes, policies, and guidelines for remote team collaboration and productivity.
• Identify and implement best-in-class remote work technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and communication.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for remote operations and monitor performance to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years specifically focused on managing remote or distributed teams.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing innovative remote work strategies and operational frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of collaboration tools, project management software, and other technologies supporting remote work.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and change management skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities in a virtual environment.
• Experience in managing operational budgets and driving cost efficiencies.
• Ability to build and foster a strong remote organizational culture.
• Familiarity with the operational landscape and talent pool associated with Stellenbosch, Western Cape is an asset.
