Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Executive Housekeeper, ready to step into the Director of Housekeeping role, to lead the hotel's Rooms Division housekeeping operations. The successful candidate will take full ownership of guest rooms, public areas, laundry operations, and back-of-house housekeeping, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational efficiency across the hotel.

Critical Criteria (Requirements)
  • Minimum 5 years senior leadership experience in luxury hotels (100+ rooms)
  • Proven track record in budgeting, strategic planning, and operations management
  • Advanced knowledge of Opera PMS and housekeeping systems (Omni, Trac Tech, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel proficiency essential)
  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management preferred
  • Exceptional people leadership and succession planning experience
  • South African citizen with a valid ID

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the housekeeping department, setting policies, procedures, and operational standards aligned with luxury brand expectations
  • Oversee cleanliness, presentation, and operational efficiency of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Manage laundry operations, linen, and housekeeping equipment inventory with preventative maintenance planning
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage departmental budgets, including CPOR metrics
  • Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping staff, building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence
  • Deliver accurate reports, uphold safety and hygiene standards, and ensure compliance with audits and SOPs
  • Collaborate with Rooms Division and hotel management teams to support overall guest experience objectives
  • Champion operational initiatives to improve efficiency, sustainability, and service quality
  • Promote the hotel's values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity
