Job summary

Xcede Group is seeking a Director of Engineering for a Cape Town-based FinTech on a growth trajectory. You will partner with the CEO and Head of Engineering, lead a 40-person engineering organization, set roadmaps, drive architectural standards, and ensure delivery of product initiatives across markets and new integrations.

You will directly manage Engineering Managers, oversee recruitment, budgets, and KPIs, and build scalable processes to support expansion into new territories.

Job description

Director of Engineering

I am recruiting for a Director of Engineering working for a Cape Town based FinTech. They are stepping into their growth phase - moving the product forward including potential market share, new integrations as well as moving into new territories.

In support of this next step, they are growing their teams to support these initiatives - one of the key hires is this position. The Engineering team at present is about 40 people strong with a fantastic Head of Engineering in place - this person will be working alongside him and both will report into the CEO.

You will be directly managing Engineering Managers, overseeing recruitment initiatives, managing budgets and operational costs as well as setting goals and KPIs. Improving processes and standards will be a big part of this role as well as setting up roadmaps with the Engineering support teams.
