Duties & Responsibilities

Job Description: Develop and implement the business plan in line with the strategic objectives of the department.

Ensure mainstreaming and integration of gender issues within departmental strategies, programs, and policies.

Promote gender equity and equality by building a strong internal understanding and commitment across the department.

Develop, monitor, and oversee strategies for gender mainstreaming, women empowerment, and employment equity (EE).

Provide strategic guidance on the development and implementation of a new Employment Equity Plan, ensuring compliance and accountability.

Plan and establish frameworks for stakeholder engagement, interface, and participation to strengthen gender and equity initiatives.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance transformation and inclusivity within the organization.

Monitor progress and performance on gender and employment equity objectives and submit reports aligned with legislative requirements.

Manage human resources, finances, assets, and performance information related to the directorate's operations.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) as recognised by SAQA in Public Administration, Business Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience at a middle or senior managerial level in a similar environment.
  • Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) obtained from the National School of Government (NSG) is compulsory and must be submitted prior to appointment.
  • puter literacy essential.
  • Valid driver's licence required.
  • Required Knowledge : In-depth understanding of the Justice Cluster dynamics.
  • Knowledge of Public Service policy and the legislative framework, including : Public Service Act and Regulations, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Correctional Services Act of (as amended).
  • Relevant experience with the regulatory framework governing public service planning processes.
  • Extensive experience in collective bargaining mechanisms.
  • Proven track record in efficient and effective human resource management.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in human resources legislation and the regulatory framework.
