Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist

Location : Johannesburg (On-site at client) Employment Type : Contract (6 Months with option to extend) Dark Arts Studio is looking for a highly skilled Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our team, a unique role that will be embedded within our client.

As part of Dark Arts Studio, you'll bring creative precision and technical excellence to every brief.

Working closely with our clients Marketing and Communications teams, you'll help shape and deliver high-quality digital content that reflects the brand's distinctive tone and uncompromising standards.

This role sits at the intersection of creativity, digital craft, and operational excellence, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple workflows and takes pride in meticulous execution.

Key Responsibilities

Website Updates & Builds : Partner with design and development teams to create, edit and maintain Investec web pages, ensuring seamless UX and adherence to brand and compliance standards.

Social Media Content : Build, optimise, and publish content across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X), ensuring consistency in tone, timing and quality.

Email Marketing : Design, build, test and send marketing and internal communications emails, ensure alignment with CRM data, brand tone, and compliance requirements.

Campaign Management : Support campaign managers by translating briefs into high-quality assets, manage workflow, approvals and reporting.

Tracking & Tagging : Implement and maintain campaign tracking, ensuring performance data integrity and actionable insights.

Internal Communications : Support the development and distribution of internal mailers and updates, ensuring clear and engaging communication.

Governance & Compliance : Uphold the client's regulatory standards and internal processes across all content produced.

Asset Management : Maintain organised asset libraries and ensure efficient version control across platforms.

Experience and Skills
  • 3–5 years' experience in digital marketing, campaign management or digital production within a high-performing environment (agency or in-house).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in CMS platforms, email marketing tools and basic HTML / CSS.
  • Understanding of CRM integrations and campaign data connections.
  • Experience in social media content creation and scheduling across platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of delivery quality.
  • Familiarity with marketing governance and regulatory frameworks.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work within both the Dark Arts and our client's ecosystems.
