Our client, a company in the transportation and logistics industry, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic with specialised expertise in UD Trucks to join their team in New Castle, KwaZulu-Natal.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain UD Trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes and suspension systems.
• Perform routine maintenance inspections and advanced troubleshooting to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
• Conduct repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems specific to UD Trucks.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and UD-specific software to identify and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate service records and job cards in compliance with QCTO and industry standards.
• Ensure adherence to workplace safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements

• Trade Test Certificate (QCTO / Red Seal or equivalent) in Diesel Mechanics.
• Minimum 3 years of post-qualifying experience as a Diesel Mechanic with specific expertise in UD Trucks.
• Proven skills in diagnostics, repair and maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles, particularly UD Trucks.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical components.
• Valid driver's license; Code EC or Code 14 license with PDP (Professional Driving Permit) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
